Meet the Team: Frankie Stewart, Junior Project & Event Manager
At Ultimate, we believe the experience is everything - and that includes the people behind every extraordinary event. This week, we sat down with one of the newest additions to our team, Frankie Stewart, who joins us as Junior Project & Event Manager. Just four weeks in and already part of the Sunken Garden team, Frankie is about to dive into her first venue build with Ultimate. Get to know her a little better below...
What was it about Ultimate that made you want to join the team and how’s your experience been so far?
I was really looking for a company that’s creative and doesn’t just deliver the standard kind of event. Corporate events can really go one of two ways - they’re either quite dull or really off-the-wall. Ultimate stood out to me because they’ve carved out a very niche space in the industry and have such a strong reputation for doing things differently. I wanted to be somewhere where I could truly get creative, work with like-minded people, and really run with ideas.
When I got the offer, I was so excited - it honestly felt like coming home. Everyone’s been incredibly welcoming, and I already feel like I’ve known the team for ages. It’s only been four weeks, but I’ve been absolutely spoilt and couldn’t have asked for a better start.
What’s something people always say about you once they get to know you?
It’s usually one of two things. Either that I’m ‘the drama’ - not because I’m causing it, but because I have very expressive reactions and can’t really hide how I’m feeling - or that I’m reliably honest. I’m the friend who gives you the tough love and reality checks, but always with optimism. I’d say I’m an optimistic realist.
Tell us about a moment in your career so far, big or small, that made you think: ‘Yes, this is the industry for me.’
That would have to be my first time going on site with Ultimate. At the time, it was just an empty space but I looked around and thought, this is going to become something magical. That moment of seeing the potential and knowing what it’s going to transform into gave me chills. I knew right then and there that I was in the right place. Making something out of nothing; that’s the magic of this industry.
What’s a small thing that instantly puts you in a good mood?
Soca music, because if you’re listening to Soca, it’s always summer.
What’s one thing you’re low-key amazing at, but don’t shout about?
Scriptwriting. I’m actually trained in comedy and I’m a really good writer, but it’s something I tend to keep under the radar.
Outside of work, what keeps you feeling energised?
Musical theatre. I try to see a show at least once every three months. Most recently I saw Hadestown, which was absolutely breathtaking.
QUICK FIRE ROUND:
Bourbon or Custard Cream?
Bourbon
Most-used app on your phone?
TikTok
Dream holiday destination (no budget, no rules)?
One week in Japan followed by a four-week Caribbean cruise
You can swap lives with a fictional character for 24 hours - who’s it going to be?
That’s a tough one. I love dark stories, but I wouldn’t actually want to live those lives! So I’ll say Tinkerbell. She’s just out there having a great time sprinkling fairy dust.
Frankie, welcome to the team. We’re so excited to see what you bring to the Sunken Garden and beyond.
