A Christmas Wonderland at the Artillery Garden, HAC

Purpose-built venue the Artillery Garden at The HAC received a sensational transformation for one bespoke Christmas party.

In addition to the venue’s festive theming, we added a photo booth, ringmaster, snow cannons, snow dome, fire child, mirror ball act, magician German Christmas market stalls and even a fully functioning ice rink.

The festive mood was set as soon as guests arrived, with snow cannons at the venue’s entrance and a fire child impressing guests with some scorching tricks.

As guests moved past the cloakroom they encountered our ringmaster, ready to welcome them into a circus they’d never forget.

The sounds of a gospel choir filled the air, putting everyone in the Christmas spirit as the party kicked off. Guests enjoyed drinks in the reception space as they marvelled at the tricks of our magician and tucked into canapés including Roasted leek and smoked applewood tart topped with baby parsley, smoked Scottish salmon on buckwheat blinis with dill and beetroot sour cream, rare roasted beef on sourdough toasts with mustard cream and cornichon and beetroot and goat’s cheese parfait on little croutes with white onion chutney.

After a quick refuel at the candy floss tricycle guests could explore the snow dome or head into the main room where they found the star of the show: an ice rink!

Having worked up an appetite, guests enjoyed German market food stalls, which surrounded the main space. The only tricky part was deciding what to have! Guests could take their pick from the Tartiflette Station, Frikadeller Station, Schnitzel Station, or Bratwurst Station. Sweet food stalls provided pudding; guests enjoyed chocolate and caramel verrine with chocolate shavings, caramel crisps and whipped Chantilly, alongside classic crêpes served with assorted creams, compotes and toppings from traditional crêpe machines.

Additional entertainment included a karaoke booth and the unique ‘mirror ball act’, which combines contortion, hand balance and dance and is performed on top of a rotating globe.

Guests could then try their luck at the fun fair stalls, take a ride on the dodgems and fun fair rides or show off their moves on the dance floor.
